What does queer mean?
Queer used to be a swear word.
Today, some people say: I am queer and proud of it.
For example:
Women who love women.
Men who love men.
People who love people.
People who don't fall in love.
People who are in love with several people at the same time.
People who don't feel sexual attraction.
People who are not just women or men.
Intersex people.
Trans people.
Why are we doing a future workshop?
The Queer Center has a new project.
It's called Inclusive Diversity.
The project is for queer people
who are disabled or crazy or neurodivergent or chronically ill.
The project aims to empower these people
and educate those around them.
So that they are seen and have a say.
So that they feel comfortable in their relationships and communities.
So that they can live a good, self-determined life
in Kassel and North Hesse.
What do we do in a future workshop?
We meet and think about the future together.
We ask ourselves:
What hinders me in everyday life?
What does a perfect world look like for me?
How will I know when I am living in a perfect world?
Then we decide together
which changes are important.
And we tell the Queer Center
what we need.
The moderation of the future workshop is queer themselves
and is disabled or crazy.
How do I sign up?
Send an email to [email protected].
Also write what you need so that you can participate fully.
For example:
“I can't stand eating noises.”
“I'm bringing my assistance dog with me.”
“I would like to be picked up at the bus stop.”
“I need translation.”
We want to make sure
all participants feel comfortable
and can participate well.
We need time for this.
Please register by October 20.
Then we can plan for your needs.
Being Together
This is important to us:
every person is valuable.
We take good care of each other
and are friendly.
Sometimes we make mistakes
or say something hurtful.
Then we talk about it.
We learn together
how to treat each other well.
Languages
The Future Workshop will be held in spoken German.
Interpretation into German Sign Language will be provided.
Whispered interpretation into spoken English can be provided.
You can participate without speaking.
